Aruba is serving as the host of the DuCaPHEN and MoBoCon Health Conference, bringing together public health experts, researchers, and vector-control specialists from across the Dutch Caribbean to strengthen regional collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The island welcomed participants for the annual meetings of the Dutch Caribbean Public Health Expertise Network (DuCaPHEN) and the Mosquito Borne Control Network (MoBoCon), two important organizations focused on improving public health and disease prevention throughout the region.
The DuCaPHEN and MoBoCon Health Conference provides a valuable platform for exchanging expertise, discussing challenges, and identifying best practices related to public health, emergency preparedness, epidemiological surveillance, and health promotion.
DuCaPHEN was established to strengthen cooperation among Aruba and the other Dutch Caribbean islands in areas such as public health policy, crisis response, disease monitoring, and preventive healthcare initiatives.
At the same time, MoBoCon held its annual meeting from June 2 through June 4, bringing together professionals responsible for mosquito and vector control across the Dutch Caribbean.
During the DuCaPHEN and MoBoCon Health Conference, participants shared research findings, practical experiences, and strategies for preventing and controlling mosquito-borne diseases that can affect communities throughout the region.
Part of the program was held at the offices of the Directie Volksgezondheid (DVG), where attendees participated in technical presentations, workshops, and discussions focused on public health challenges and innovative solutions.
The conference also included field activities at various locations around Aruba, allowing participants to observe mosquito-control methods and community-based prevention efforts currently being implemented on the island.
