ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Aruba government is working closely with stakeholders to prepare for potential economic changes caused by global geopolitical developments.

The Aruba Economic Impact Geopolitics discussion was highlighted by AVP faction leader Jennifer Arends-Reyes during a public Parliament meeting, focusing on rising living costs and economic pressure on households.

According to Arends-Reyes, global tensions are affecting fuel prices, transportation costs, and supply chains, which directly increase the cost of food, energy, water, and other essential goods in Aruba.

She emphasized that the government is actively monitoring international developments and taking preventive measures to protect citizens’ purchasing power.

The Aruba Economic Impact Geopolitics response includes temporary fuel tax reductions, maintaining stable utility prices, and providing social support for vulnerable households and pensioners.

Additionally, the government is using scenario planning and continuous monitoring to make informed and responsible decisions without risking financial stability.

Arends-Reyes also highlighted opportunities to strengthen Aruba’s economy by investing in local production, agriculture, fishing, and renewable energy to reduce dependence on imports.

The Aruba Economic Impact Geopolitics approach underscores the importance of collaboration between government, private sector, and the community to ensure long-term resilience.
