ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Government of Aruba has officially launched a Taxi.aw Complaint Platform The website is designed to allow locals and tourists to view official taxi rates online, while also providing a channel to submit complaints directly against taxi drivers in cases of overcharging or poor service.
According to official information, the platform permits users to report various situations related to taxi services, including excessive charges, violations of regulations, or inappropriate treatment. Through the system, users can submit details regarding the specific taxi, the route traveled, and the nature of the problem. Authorities will review all complaints that are received via the platform.
Minister Arthur Dowers indicated that Taxi.aw is part of the ongoing modernization of the public transport sector. He stated that the primary objective is to increase confidence between tourists, local residents, and the taxi drivers who perform their work honestly.
The government also emphasized that the vast majority of taxi drivers in Aruba comply with their duties correctly and provide good service on a daily basis. However, officials noted that this new system will help monitor the small number of individuals affecting the reputation of the sector.
