A HOH funding response disputes AZV’s description of hospital advances as additional money and warns that planned deductions could renew cash pressure in December. Diario published the hospital’s account on November 5.
Partial payment for care already provided
The hospital said it received Afl. 15 million on Tuesday for care delivered to AZV-insured patients in 2025. It described the money as partial settlement of outstanding compensation, not an increase in its annual budget.
HOH said the payment would allow it to meet obligations for several weeks and that further restrictions on already-planned operations and treatments were not necessary at present.
Long-term financing remains unresolved
The hospital said no final financial agreement for 2025 care had been reached. It also warned that AZV’s intended deduction of earlier advances from December payments could create another significant cash shortage.
HOH disputed the description of Afl. 31 million in advances as additional funding, saying those advances form part of its existing budget. It said discussions with AZV and the government continue, including arrangements for 2027. These are the hospital’s stated position and concerns, not confirmation that the financing dispute has been resolved.
