Aruba business opportunities are set to expand as Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and the Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever invites local companies to participate in HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2026.
The regional business event will take place on September 9 and 10, 2026, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
During a press conference on Monday morning, Wever encouraged Aruban businesses, importers, distributors and commercial representatives to take part.
HUB Cámara Santo Domingo, promoted as “The Business Hub of the Region,” brings together international buyers, producers, exporters, distributors and companies seeking new commercial relationships.
The event is designed to create direct contacts, identify business opportunities and support new trade partnerships.
According to Wever, participation by Aruban businesses fits directly within the government’s strategy to strengthen Aruba’s economic position and expand regional commercial connections.
He said Aruba, as a small and open economy, must continue looking beyond its traditional markets and supply chains.
“We must actively search for alternatives, create new connections and build commercial relationships that can strengthen our economy,” Wever said.
Dominican Republic Offers Regional Opportunities
The Dominican Republic is viewed as an important regional market for Aruban companies looking for new suppliers, competitive products, improved prices and commercial partnerships.
The event will focus on several sectors relevant to Aruba, including agriculture, agro-industry, manufacturing, construction, technology and energy.
These areas could support Aruba’s efforts to strengthen supply chains and increase options available to the private sector.
During HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2026, Aruban participants will have an opportunity to meet directly with Dominican companies.
Businesses can compare products and prices, identify potential suppliers and explore commercial agreements through structured business-to-business meetings.
International Buyer Program
Selected participants may also qualify for the international buyer program.
The program can include a three-day, two-night hotel stay, transportation between the airport and hotel, a personalized agenda with pre-qualified local companies, B2B meetings, conference access, trade exhibitions and networking activities.
Support from ProDominicana may also be available during and after the event.
Wever said the government’s role is to create conditions that allow the private sector to grow.
“Government does not do business for entrepreneurs,” he said.
“Our responsibility is to create connections, facilitate access and open doors so Aruban businesses can identify opportunities and take the next step.”
He said direct connections with producers, exporters and suppliers can create more opportunities for competition, investment and economic growth in Aruba.
Exprodesk to Assist Aruban Businesses
The Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce and Industry, through Exprodesk, will help coordinate participation by interested Aruban companies.
Exprodesk will provide information, guidance and communication with event organizers where necessary.
As part of the preparations, Wever and DEACI are inviting interested businesses, importers, distributors and commercial representatives to attend an information session.
The session is scheduled for August 12, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cas Veneranda.

Wever encouraged Aruba’s private sector to make use of the initiative.
He said every new commercial connection could create an opportunity for a company to grow, increase economic activity and strengthen Aruba.
