ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Five Aruban soldiers officially took their military oath on July 9, 2026, during a ceremony held at Marinierskazerne Savaneta.
The oath marks an important milestone in their military careers as members of ARUMIL (Arubaanse Militairen).
The ceremony was attended by family members, fellow service personnel, the Governor of Aruba, the Prime Minister of Aruba, the Commander of the Royal Netherlands Navy in the Caribbean, and other invited guests.
Earlier this year, the five soldiers completed their Basic Military Training (EMV) alongside members of CURMIL (Curaçao Military Personnel) before successfully finishing the Security and Surveillance (B&B) module, preparing them for operational duties within the Caribbean region.
Following the ceremony, the newly sworn soldiers will continue serving with ARUMIL, contributing to the security of Aruba and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
