ORANJESTAD (AAN) – CEDE Aruba Offers Free Garbage Bags for National Clean-Up Day by partnering with Bario UNiCO and community centres across the island to help residents participate in Aruba’s nationwide cleanup campaign on Saturday, July 25.

The initiative supports the government’s National Day to Care for Aruba and aims to make it easier for individuals, families, and community groups to take part in cleaning their neighbourhoods.

To encourage participation, free garbage bags will be available for residents to collect at designated community centres on Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Collection Locations

Residents can pick up free garbage bags at the following locations:

  • Lago Heights Community Centre
  • Brazil Community Centre
  • Dakota Community Centre
  • Playa Pabao Community Centre
  • Noord Community Centre
  • Fundacion Centro Famia Piedra Plat

Community Participation Encouraged

CEDE Aruba, Bario UNiCO, and the participating community centres are encouraging families, neighbours, clubs, schools, organizations, and volunteer groups to join the island-wide cleanup effort.

Organizers say every resident can contribute by cleaning around their home, neighbourhood, or community.

According to the organizers, every filled garbage bag and every cleaned public space helps move Aruba closer to becoming a cleaner and more attractive island.

About National Day to Care for Aruba

The National Day to Care for Aruba is a government initiative designed to strengthen the shared responsibility of protecting and maintaining the island’s environment.

Held under the slogan “P’ami. P’abo. Pa nos tur.” (“For me. For you. For all of us.”), the campaign encourages residents, businesses, schools, clubs, foundations, and community organizations to work together during a nationwide cleanup on July 25.

Beyond removing litter, the initiative seeks to build greater public awareness that caring for Aruba’s environment is a responsibility shared by everyone.

Additional information about the campaign is available at www.arubatanostur.com.
