ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) officially released its 2025 Annual Report titled “Shifting Gears – Accelerating Our Path Forward,” highlighting a year focused on strategic transition, operational discipline, and accelerated progress toward long-term goals.

According to AAA, the report reflects the organization’s continued commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and strengthening its role as a key driver of Aruba’s economy and connectivity.

During 2025, AAA managed an important leadership transition while maintaining strong operational performance and advancing major infrastructure developments. The airport authority continued working toward its long-term vision of becoming one of the most sustainable, secure, and future-ready airports in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

The report outlines progress in several strategic priorities, including organizational development, service quality, innovation, and sustainability. Despite challenges caused by increasing passenger demand and infrastructure limitations, the opening of Gateway 2030 Phase 1A improved passenger flow, especially for travelers flying to the United States.

Key highlights from 2025 included:

  • More than 3.4 million passengers traveled through Aruba Airport.
  • Successful completion and operational launch of Gateway 2030 Phase 1A, including a new check-in hall and advanced baggage handling system.
  • Continued acceleration of Gateway 2030 Phase 1B and preparations for Phase 2 expansion projects.

The report also noted strong passenger satisfaction scores, reaching 4.12, with overall satisfaction levels at 3.99 on a five-point scale.

AAA also reported continued growth in airline connectivity and partnerships, reinforcing Aruba’s position as an important regional aviation hub.

Among the challenges addressed during 2025 were managing rising passenger volumes, strengthening leadership structures during transition periods, and meeting aerodrome certification requirements.

AAA also highlighted major sustainability initiatives, including the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) and progress under international environmental standards.

Interim CEO James Fazio stated that despite leadership changes and growing operational demands, the airport remained focused on achieving progress and strengthening operational and financial resilience.

Beginning January 2026, AAA officially welcomed new CEO Jonny Andersen, marking a new phase of leadership stability and strategic direction for the organization.

AAA invited stakeholders and the community to review the full 2025 Annual Report through its official website.

The airport authority also confirmed continued progress in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs supporting Aruba’s sustainable development.
