ORANJESTAD (AAN) – On Wednesday, May 6, the official contract between La Leyenda Island Series and the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) was signed, marking an important step toward organizing the first edition of “La Leyenda Island Series Aruba.”

Among those present at the signing were Aruba Tourism Authority CEO Ronella Croes, representatives of A.T.A., Brian Patrick Murphy-O’Neill of La Leyenda Island Series, Jeanuar de Palm of The Caribbean Trail Legends Foundation, and other officials.

The international cycling event will take place from October 9 to October 11, 2026, marking Aruba’s debut as host of the global La Leyenda Island Series.

The three-day event forms part of the international “La Leyenda Island” series and is being organized in collaboration with A.T.A. to strengthen Aruba’s position as a destination focused on wellness tourism and high-quality sports tourism.

The first edition will feature a multi-stage format designed to showcase Aruba’s diverse landscapes, including coastal areas, inland terrain, and mixed-surface cycling routes.

The event will also utilize Aruba’s mountain bike trail network, recently developed and improved through investments by A.T.A., promoting responsible use and long-term conservation of the trails.

Organizers emphasized that the event focuses on wellness tourism by combining physical activity, health, and connection with nature, matching the growing interest among travelers seeking active vacation experiences.

Sustainability principles will also be integrated throughout the event, with attention given to low-impact operations and environmental care.

La Leyenda Island Series Aruba 2026 is expected to attract international visitors interested in multi-day sports experiences while encouraging longer stays and deeper engagement with Aruba as a destination.

Community participation will play a central role in the event. Organization and execution will be supported by the Caribbean Trail Legends Foundation Aruba together with local cycling clubs, local partners, and volunteers.

Ronella Croes stated that the event strengthens Aruba’s tourism strategy by placing wellness, sports, and sustainability at the center of its tourism offerings while creating long-term value for the community.

Brian Patrick Murphy-O’Neill, founder of La Leyenda Race, described the Aruba edition as the realization of a shared dream and praised Aruba’s cycling culture, landscapes, and welcoming atmosphere.

Official registration for the event opens on May 8, 2026, through the website leyendaseries.com/aruba.
