Each year, the Representation of the Netherlands in Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten contributes a total of EUR 250,000 to support local non-profit organizations through the Small Projects Fund (Kleine Projecten Fonds – KPF). Registered foundations can apply for grants of up to ANG 5,000 to strengthen community-based projects.

The fund prioritizes initiatives that promote social development, especially in areas such as youth programs, neighborhood improvement, sports, culture, healthcare, food security, and poverty reduction. Its main goal is to empower grassroots organizations that make a tangible difference in people’s lives and strengthen the social fabric of the Dutch Caribbean.

Recently, Mr. Kunst from the Dutch Representation presented the latest KPF contribution in Curaçao during the visit of the Curaçao national football team, symbolizing the close cooperation between the Netherlands and the islands.

All registered foundations with the Chamber of Commerce are eligible to apply. Organizations in Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten have already benefited from the fund over the past year.

In Curaçao, examples include:

  • Sentro di Bario Otrobanda, which received funding for after-school programs for neighborhood children.
  • Welcome Home Foundation, supported for its work assisting individuals undergoing chemotherapy.
  • Café Magic, which expanded its learning and employment programs for people with mental disabilities.

Applications for the next round of funding in Curaçao remain open until November 20, 2025. The initiative continues to highlight the Netherlands’ ongoing commitment to social progress and partnership with the islands.
