ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The Mayvir Orman Championship Fight has received public support from Justice Minister Arthur Dowers as the Aruban mixed martial artist prepares for an international title challenge in Paraguay.
Mayvir “Aruban Earthquake” Orman is scheduled to compete on September 19, 2026, in Asunción, where he will represent Aruba in a 93-kilogram light heavyweight championship fight.
Dowers wished Orman success during his final preparations and described the athlete’s discipline, dedication and perseverance as an example for young people across Aruba.
Orman Will Fight for Light Heavyweight Title
Orman is expected to appear in the main event of the FSC programme against a professional fighter from Argentina.
The opponent’s name was not included in the announcement.
Earlier reporting said Orman already holds an FSC heavyweight championship and has now been invited to challenge for another title in the lighter 93-kilogram division.
Competing at a different weight requires careful preparation because the athlete must manage his weight while maintaining strength, endurance and recovery throughout the training period.
Intensive Training Planned in Bogotá
Before travelling to Paraguay, Orman will continue his preparation through an intensive training camp in Bogotá, Colombia.
He has previously trained in Colombia as part of his development as an MMA fighter and said the camp will help prepare him for the physical and technical demands of the championship bout.
Training camps commonly include striking, grappling, wrestling, conditioning, strategy and controlled sparring. Orman must also prepare for the fighting style and physical characteristics of his Argentine opponent.
Minister Praises Athlete’s Commitment
Dowers said Orman’s commitment demonstrates what an athlete can achieve through continued effort and discipline.
The minister wished him strength and success as he prepares to carry Aruba’s flag onto an international stage.
Personnel from the minister’s office and Orman’s colleagues at CEA also joined in expressing support.
The announcement did not include a government sponsorship commitment, travel grant or new athlete-funding programme. It should therefore be presented as an expression of encouragement rather than an official financial partnership.
International Bout Creates Exposure for Aruba
Competing in the main event gives Orman an opportunity to build his professional record while increasing visibility for Aruba within the regional combat-sports community.
MMA requires athletes to combine several disciplines, including boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and submission grappling.
A championship victory would give Orman a second title in another weight category, according to the earlier fight announcement.
However, the result will depend on the final matchup, preparation and performance on fight night.
