Upon arrival, paramedics examined and treated the detainee. After assessing her condition, the medical team decided that it would be safer for her to be transported to hospital for further evaluation and care.

Because the woman was still under police custody, officers provided an escort during the ambulance transport.

The report does not provide details regarding the cause of the woman’s illness, her medical condition, or the reason she had originally been detained.

No information was provided indicating whether the medical issue was related to a pre-existing condition, an injury, medication, stress, or another cause.

The ambulance crew ensured that the woman received immediate medical attention before transporting her to the hospital, where doctors could conduct a more complete examination and determine whether additional treatment was necessary.

Police officers accompanied the ambulance as part of the standard security procedure for individuals who remain in custody while receiving medical treatment outside a police facility.

The report does not indicate whether the woman remained hospitalized, was later returned to the police station, or was released from custody following her medical evaluation.

Authorities have also not released further details about the incident or the detainee’s current condition.

Cases involving detained individuals who become ill require coordination between police officers and emergency medical personnel to ensure that the person receives appropriate medical care while security requirements are maintained.

In this case, paramedics responded to the Santa Cruz police station, evaluated the woman and determined that hospital transport was the appropriate course of action.

The incident concluded with the detainee being transported by ambulance under police escort for further medical assessment.
