Recently, the Minister of Justice, Integration, Public Transportation, and Energy, Mr. drs. Arthur Dowers, in collaboration with an independent research team, announced the launch of a survey to learn more about why people gamble and its impact on them and the community. This initiative aims to evaluate both the positive and negative effects of gambling in Aruba to provide adequate support to those in need. The survey runs from April 30 to May 8, 2026, covering topics such as the types of games played, frequency of participation, and any consequences experienced. The data collected will help the Government of Aruba make better decisions regarding management, legislation, and community programs. Conducted at strategic points like shopping centers, supermarkets, casinos, and lottery sales points, University of Aruba students in red uniforms and identification badges will approach the community. Participants can complete the survey in privacy at various locations. The survey is completely anonymous, and all information will be treated with total discretion for the investigation.
