ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Government of Aruba, together with the Fundacion Cas pa Comunidad Arubano (FCCA), has launched a housing maintenance program in the Village neighborhood of San Nicolas.
Minister René Herdé stated that the initiative goes beyond home maintenance, emphasizing the government’s continued commitment to improving cleanliness, maintenance, and quality of life throughout Aruba. Through various programs and ongoing efforts, government departments are working daily to maintain public spaces and communities in good condition.
However, the minister stressed that keeping Aruba clean and well-maintained is not solely the responsibility of the government. According to Herdé, the well-being and cleanliness of the island require a shared commitment from the government, private sector, and every citizen.
In recent weeks, several cleanup and renovation projects have been carried out in neighborhoods and public areas across Aruba. These efforts will continue, but long-term success depends on active community participation.
The government is encouraging residents to avoid illegal dumping and to contribute to keeping the island clean, attractive, and enjoyable for residents, workers, and visitors.
Minister Herdé concluded by emphasizing that a cleaner Aruba can only be achieved through cooperation and shared responsibility among all members of the community.
