The FCVR Fundraising Campaign is calling on members of the Aruba community to volunteer and help raise funds for the Fundacion Contra Violencia Relacional (FCVR), an organization that provides support services for individuals affected by relational violence.
During an interview, social worker Rish Ann Ammerland explained that FCVR organizes fundraising collections twice each year because government funding only partially covers the foundation’s operational expenses.
According to Ammerland, the FCVR Fundraising Campaign is essential for maintaining the organization’s services, operating its shelter facilities, and developing new projects aimed at improving support for clients.
She noted that community participation in fundraising efforts has traditionally been positive. However, contributions have become more challenging in recent years as fewer people carry cash due to the increasing use of digital payment methods.
Despite this trend, FCVR remains optimistic about the support it receives from the Aruba community. The foundation has established a minimum fundraising goal of 35,000 florins for this year’s collection drive.
The FCVR Fundraising Campaign will take place on three Saturdays: June 27, July 4, and July 11. Volunteers will be stationed at various roundabouts across Aruba during two collection periods, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Ammerland explained that FCVR is seeking between five and eight volunteers for each location and time slot to ensure the fundraising effort is successful.
The organization encourages residents who wish to support the FCVR Fundraising Campaign by volunteering to register through WhatsApp at 593-2767.
Funds collected during the campaign will directly support the foundation’s programs and services for individuals and families who rely on FCVR’s assistance.
The FCVR Fundraising Campaign represents an important opportunity for community members to contribute to efforts that help protect and support vulnerable individuals throughout Aruba.
FCVR expressed gratitude for the continued support received from the public and hopes to achieve its fundraising target while expanding awareness about the services it provides.
By participating in the FCVR Fundraising Campaign, volunteers and donors can help ensure that essential support services remain available for those in need across the island.
