ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Impact Hub Aruba says entrepreneurship will play a central role in strengthening Aruba’s economy by creating new business opportunities and reducing reliance on a single economic sector.
According to Managing Director Mary-Ann Falconi-Rasmijn, Aruba’s economy continues to perform strongly, supported by record tourism, steady economic growth and low inflation. However, she emphasized that long-term resilience depends on developing new industries before existing economic drivers reach their limits.
Rather than focusing solely on individual sectors such as technology or healthcare, Falconi-Rasmijn said economic diversification begins by empowering entrepreneurs to identify problems, develop innovative solutions and build sustainable businesses.
Since its establishment in 2022, Impact Hub Aruba has launched entrepreneurship programs, training initiatives and networking opportunities that have reached thousands of participants. Its O’STAD Incubator, developed with local and international partners, has helped startups refine business ideas, receive mentorship and prepare for investment.
Several successful startups, including businesses in speech therapy, electric mobility and food delivery, have emerged from the program, demonstrating how entrepreneurship can generate employment and expand Aruba’s economic base.
Impact Hub Aruba said its long-term goal is to help local talent create innovative businesses that contribute to both Aruba’s economy and the wider Caribbean region.
