ORANJESTAD, Aruba – AVB Appoints Cindy Erasmus as its first official Marketing, PR & Communications Officer, marking a new step in the Arubaanse Voetbal Bond’s strategy to strengthen communication, improve its public image and increase the visibility of football throughout Aruba.
The Arubaanse Voetbal Bond (AVB) proudly introduced Cindy Erasmus last week as the newest member of its organization. Her appointment is significant because it is the first time in the federation’s history that AVB has created a dedicated position focused specifically on marketing, public relations and communications.
According to AVB, the new role forms part of the board’s broader strategy to improve communication with all stakeholders connected to football in Aruba. The federation wants to strengthen its relationship with clubs, players, supporters, partners, sponsors and the wider community while building a more professional and recognizable public presence.
Cindy Erasmus is 26 years old and completed her higher education in the Netherlands, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Business, formerly known as Media & Entertainment Management.
During her studies, she gained experience in a broad range of media and communications fields, including television, radio, production, marketing, social media and strategic communication. This combination of skills provided her with a strong foundation to contribute to both the creative sector and professional communications.
AVB Appoints Cindy Erasmus with the expectation that her experience will help the football federation modernize the way it communicates with the public and presents its activities.
In her new role, Erasmus will be responsible for AVB’s marketing, public relations and overall communication strategy. Her responsibilities will include strengthening the federation’s image, increasing awareness of football activities and creating stronger connections between AVB and the people it serves.
One of the key goals of the position is to make football in Aruba more visible. This includes promoting competitions, clubs, players, programs and other football-related initiatives while ensuring that information reaches supporters and stakeholders through effective communication channels.
Social media and digital communication are expected to play an important role in the strategy. With her background in media and creative business, Erasmus will be able to support AVB in developing content that better connects with younger audiences while maintaining clear and professional communication with established football organizations and partners.
The appointment may also help AVB strengthen relationships with sponsors and commercial partners. Marketing and communications play an increasingly important role in modern sports organizations, not only in promoting competitions but also in building stronger brands, attracting partnerships and developing greater public engagement.
AVB said the new position reflects its commitment to the continued development and professionalization of football on the island. By creating a dedicated communications role, the federation aims to ensure that the progress taking place within Aruba’s football community is more effectively shared with the public.
The organization officially welcomed Cindy Erasmus into the Aruba football family and wished her success in her new position.
AVB also expressed enthusiasm about working together with Erasmus to further develop football across the island and strengthen the connection between the federation, clubs, partners and everyone who shares a passion for the sport.
