ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Masters World Championships Aruba is expected to draw competitors from more than 24 countries for three days of functional-fitness events in October, organizers announced at an Aruba Bank Camacuri press conference.
Competition runs October 23–25
The event is scheduled for October 23 through 25 at Centro Libertador Betico Croes. F3Aruba president Ronald Speijer said the program will include categories associated with CrossFit, Hyrox and weightlifting, while presenting Aruba as an active Caribbean sports destination.
Organizers point to tourism and community benefits
Aruba Bank and the Aruba Tourism Authority were identified as sponsors in the source report. Update — October 1, 2026: Aruba is set to welcome 255 athletes from 24 countries to the IF3 Masters World Championship, taking place October 22–25, 2026 — the second time the island hosts the event, following a successful edition in 2022.
The championship will put Aruba at the center of international functional fitness, with Masters athletes across different age categories competing over several days. The program begins Thursday, October 22 with registration, check-in and athlete briefing; competition runs Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, including the official opening ceremony, finals, closing ceremony and medal presentations.
Venues include Centro Deportivo Betico Croes, the Bushiribana Gold Mines and Veld Nadi Croes / Crismo Angela.
Ronald Speyer, the new president of F3 Aruba, said the organization is proud to bring the championship to the island: together with IF3 and all partners, Aruba aims to offer athletes a professional competition while showcasing the island’s hospitality, culture and beauty.
IF3 president Gretchen Kittelberger said the federation is thrilled to return to Aruba, praising the island’s proven ability to organize an excellent event and to give athletes an unforgettable cultural and tourist experience.
The 255 registered athletes represent Sweden, the United States, Brazil, Norway, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, Aruba, France, Switzerland, Curaçao, the Netherlands, Hungary, South Korea, Spain, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Austria, Greenland, Russia, Belgium, Jersey and Finland.
