ORANJESTAD – Wingo officially launched its inaugural flight between Barranquilla, Colombia, and Aruba on Wednesday with a special ceremony at Queen Beatrix International Airport.
According to the official program, the aircraft was scheduled to arrive at 12:15 p.m., followed by a welcome ceremony featuring remarks from Tourism, Transport and Labor Minister Wendrick Cicilia, Wingo’s Carlos Meléndez, Director of Network Planning and Performance, and Barbara Brown, Chief Revenue Development & Communications Officer.
The event also included an exchange of commemorative gifts, followed by the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony and cake cutting.
The new route expands Aruba’s air connectivity with Colombia and is expected to strengthen tourism, business opportunities and travel between the two destinations.
