A Wariruri north coast fire was quickly brought under control on Friday after a small blaze broke out in a dry area along Aruba’s northern coastline.

The fire was first spotted by passersby, who immediately alerted authorities after noticing smoke rising from the vegetation.

Possible Cause of the Fire

Preliminary reports indicate that the Wariruri north coast fire may have started when someone discarded a lit cigarette, which then ignited the dry grass in the area.

The location of the fire was mostly away from residential buildings, making the incident unusual but still potentially dangerous due to the dry vegetation.

Rapid Response by Firefighters

A fire truck arrived quickly at the scene after the alarm was raised. Firefighters worked efficiently to contain and extinguish the flames before the fire could spread further.

After putting out the blaze, the firefighters carefully inspected the surrounding area to ensure that no remaining sparks or embers could reignite the fire.

Authorities noted that the dry conditions and strong winds in the region could have allowed the fire to spread rapidly if it had not been controlled quickly.

No Injuries or Damage Reported

The Wariruri north coast fire did not result in any injuries or property damage.

Officials used the incident as a reminder for the public to exercise caution when handling cigarettes or other materials that could start fires, especially in dry areas where vegetation can easily ignite.

Authorities continue to urge residents and visitors to remain mindful of fire risks in vulnerable natural areas across Aruba.
