Several Aruba police units were present at the airport as a U.S. government aircraft arrived to collect the two prisoners. The report said both were wanted in connection with pending cases in the United States.

One detainee was described as a Venezuelan-Italian man arrested upon arrival in Aruba in January. The other was described as a Colombian man detained when he arrived in April 2026 in connection with a drug case.
