ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The Piedra Plat Youth Camp will give young people between the ages of 12 and 16 an active and educational conclusion to Aruba’s August school holiday.

Fundacion Centro Famia Piedra Plat will hold the programme from Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14, 2026.

Activities will run daily from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., with breakfast and a hot lunch included for participants.

Camp Combines Creativity and Personal Development

The week will focus on music, innovation, identity and leadership.

Participants will take part in games, challenges and group activities intended to help them explore their interests, make new friends and develop practical social skills.

The foundation described the programme as a healthy and enjoyable way for teenagers to spend the final week of their vacation before returning to school.

Its broader 2026 summer programme was designed to build curiosity, confidence and creativity through music, art, innovation and leadership.

International Youth Day Included

The camp will recognise International Youth Day on Wednesday, August 12.

The United Nations observes International Youth Day annually to highlight the challenges and opportunities facing young people and celebrate their contributions to society.

The official theme for 2026 is “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” focusing on the shared hopes of young people for dignity, participation and opportunity.

The camp’s leadership and identity activities reflect that emphasis by encouraging participants to express themselves and become more involved in their communities.

Waterpark Trip Will Conclude Programme

The week will end with a trip to Aruba Waterpark on Friday, August 14.

The outing will provide participants with a recreational conclusion after several days of creative and educational activities.

The announcement does not specify whether transportation, entrance fees and additional refreshments are included. Parents should confirm the complete arrangements before registration.

Experienced Staff Will Supervise Participants

Teachers and experienced assistants will guide participants throughout the camp.

Their responsibilities will include supervising activities, supporting group participation and helping maintain a safe and organised environment.

An earlier announcement about the three-week programme stated that the foundation planned to accept a limited number of participants and provide several leaders for each camp session. Families should confirm whether space remains available for the August 10–14 group.

CEDE Aruba and ATHA Support Accessibility

Fundacion Centro Famia Piedra Plat thanked CEDE Aruba for contributing financially toward the programme.

ATHA also assisted the organisers in reaching a socially accessible participation price, particularly for young people from families with limited financial resources.

The initiative is intended to ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent children from participating in educational and recreational holiday activities.

The exact camp fee and the process for requesting reduced-cost participation were not included in the announcement.

Foundation Supports Children and Families

Fundacion Centro Famia Piedra Plat provides educational, cultural, social and family-oriented programmes in Aruba.

Its activities include educational assistance, music instruction, youth programmes and community events intended to support children, teenagers, adults and older residents.

The foundation is located at Piedra Plat 50. Its official website lists centrofamiapp@gmail.com and telephone numbers 585-5544, 699-5545 and 592-7794 for contact.

Parents interested in the Piedra Plat Youth Camp should contact the foundation directly to confirm registration availability, the participation fee, required documents and arrangements for the Waterpark trip.
