An Aruba knowledge centre proposal was discussed in The Hague by Wageningen University & Research representatives, Mike Eman, Mildred Schwengle and Eric van der Burg, Diario reported on November 2.
Meeting focuses on practical cooperation
The meeting at the Dutch interior and Kingdom relations ministry considered a WUR centre supporting research, teaching and economic diversification in Aruba. WUR representative Joost de Laat described the conversation positively and referred to an earlier memorandum of understanding.
A proposal, not an opened centre
De Laat expressed hope that practical steps could follow during the coming months. The report does not give a separate exact meeting date or announce that a facility has opened, funding has been approved or construction has begun. This meeting is distinct from earlier bilateral and farewell speeches mentioning the project.
