Gerick Croes has earned a Master of Notarial Law at the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises Da Costa Gomez, according to 24ora. He was among graduates at the university’s annual ceremony on Friday, October 30.
A background in finance and law
The report identifies him as Gerick Aldrick Croes and describes an academic path that began with an accounting and finance bachelor’s degree from the University of Aruba in 2008. He later studied Aruban law, completing that qualification in 2021 with legal-practice and tax-law specialisations.
Croes entered corporate legal work in the notarial sector in 2022. According to the report, encouragement from notary Theodore Johnson and candidate-notary Cyrielle de Nobrega helped lead him to the new master’s programme.
Research on supervision of state companies
His final thesis examined the responsibilities of supervisory directors in state-owned companies. The report says his notarial studies also covered corporate law, matrimonial property, private law, taxation and inheritance.
The new degree adds a notarial-law specialisation to his existing professional training. The source does not announce an appointment as a notary.
