ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Copa Gubernamental 2026 officially began this month at Kudawecha Field.
Copa Gubernamental 2026 is an annual softball competition held in June between government and semi-government organizations. The goal of the tournament is to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, friendship, and unity among the participating organizations.
Each year, a different organization is responsible for organizing the tournament. This year, SETAR is in charge of organizing Copa Gubernamental 2026, and N.V. ELMAR expressed appreciation for their dedication and contribution to the competition.
The participating organizations in the men’s category are Douane, DIMP, N.V. ELMAR, SETAR N.V., KPA Police, Coast Guard, Education, Fire Department, Post Aruba N.V., Serlimar, APA, WEB Aruba N.V., AAA Airport, HOH Hospital, and CEA.
In the women’s category, the participating teams are KPA Police, HOH Hospital, and N.V. ELMAR’s “Chispita Power.”
This year, N.V. ELMAR is participating for the first time with its women’s softball team, Chispita Power. The team was launched last November in celebration of ELMAR’s 75th anniversary, with the purpose of promoting sports and well-being among ELMAR’s female employees.
N.V. ELMAR’s schedule includes matches against SETAR N.V., Douane, KPA, and DIMP. Chispita Power will compete against KPA and HOH during the tournament.
