Residents of the Bushiri neighborhood in Noord recently met with government officials to discuss improvements for their community. The discussions focused on enhancing the quality of life, cleanliness, and maintenance of the area.
Resident Esmeralda Krosendijk expressed the community’s desire to see the neighborhood regain its dignity and appearance. She emphasized the need for a more welcoming living environment. Following these conversations, initial cleanup actions have been initiated, sparking hope among residents for sustainable change. The community stressed that beautification efforts, such as planting, require consistent care.
Parliamentarian Stephany Sevinger, who supported the initiative, noted the importance of government listening to residents. A key point raised during the meeting was the adaptation of the local recreation park. Residents suggested that the park, originally designed for children, now requires facilities for the aging population, such as resting areas, walking paths, and appropriate exercise equipment.
