ORANJESTAD, Aruba — An Aruba Kiwanis Meeting recently brought together members from several clubs for an evening focused on collaboration, education and community service.
Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach organized the successful interclub gathering, which welcomed representatives from Kiwanis Club of Aruba and Kiwanis Club of San Nicolas.
The event gave members an opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships and discuss how the clubs can work together more effectively to support children and families across Aruba.
Child Passenger Safety Discussed
Guest speaker Maidi Maduro delivered a presentation based on her thesis examining the use of child safety seats in Aruba.
Her presentation encouraged an important discussion about the safety of children travelling as passengers in vehicles. Members considered how Kiwanis clubs and other community organizations could help increase public awareness and promote safer transportation practices for young children.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of cooperation between organizations, parents and community leaders when addressing child passenger safety.
International Kiwanis Updates Shared
During the Aruba Kiwanis Meeting, members also received information about the recent Eastern Canada and Caribbean District Convention held in Toronto.
Updates were provided about the upcoming Division Council Meeting scheduled to take place in Suriname. Members also learned more about the next Eastern Canada and Caribbean District Convention, which will be held in the Bahamas.
These regional and international meetings allow Kiwanis representatives to share successful initiatives, discuss organizational priorities and develop new ways to serve communities throughout the district.
Club Leaders Recognized
President Ross and his board were congratulated for completing an exceptional year of service and leadership.
Members noted that people involved in community organizations do not always recognize how much they have accomplished until they reflect on the results of their work.
President Michel Frank was also thanked for organizing the interclub event and maintaining positive momentum throughout the Kiwanis year. Members encouraged him and his team to continue their efforts during the remaining months of the term.
The gathering demonstrated the value of cooperation among Aruba’s Kiwanis clubs. By sharing knowledge, coordinating projects and supporting one another, members believe they can make a greater difference in the lives of Aruba’s children.
