ORANJESTAD – The Colombian Navy patrol vessel ARC 24 de Julio arrived in Aruba on Friday for a special weekend visit celebrating Colombia’s Independence Day and more than 200 years of diplomatic relations between Colombia and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Prime Minister Mike Eman, accompanied by his wife Doina Eman-Neagoy, welcomed the vessel’s captain during an official ceremony at the Port of Oranjestad. Government officials, members of Parliament, Colombia’s Consul to Aruba, Gustavo Serrano Amaya, and Aruba Ports Authority representatives also attended the event.
The vessel, designed and built in Colombia, departed from Cartagena and will continue its regional voyage after leaving Aruba. During its stay, the public is invited to tour the ship at Aruba’s cruise port, with special Independence Day activities scheduled for Sunday.
Prime Minister Eman praised the Colombian community’s valuable contributions to Aruba and highlighted the visit as a symbol of the long-standing friendship, cooperation and mutual respect between Aruba and Colombia.
