ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Elizabeth Johnson Miss Universe Aruba 2026 has officially received her crown and will represent the island at the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico later this year.
Johnson was crowned during an official ceremony Friday evening at the Clubhouse at Tierra del Sol.
Tourism Minister Wendrick Cicilia had the honor of placing the Miss Universe Aruba crown on Johnson, formally confirming her as Aruba’s representative for the international competition.
The new title represents another major milestone for Johnson, who already has experience representing Aruba in international pageantry.
Elizabeth Johnson Miss Universe Aruba 2026
The Elizabeth Johnson Miss Universe Aruba journey follows several years of involvement in beauty competitions and community activities.
Johnson is not new to Aruba’s pageant scene.
In 2021, she was crowned Miss Teen Aruba International, earning the opportunity to represent the island internationally.
She later travelled to Guatemala to participate in Miss Teen Grand and finished as first runner-up.
Her previous experience means she enters the Miss Universe Aruba role already familiar with the preparation, discipline and responsibilities involved in representing Aruba abroad.
Local reporting following her latest coronation also highlighted Johnson’s involvement in community and social initiatives.
Cicilia described her as someone whose qualities extend beyond physical appearance, pointing to her education, professionalism and participation in projects that benefit Aruba.
Johnson Preparing for International Stage
Johnson said preparation for Miss Universe involves several areas of development.
Representing Aruba internationally requires physical and mental preparation, public appearances, travel and other activities in the months leading up to the competition.
She said she intends to use the opportunity to represent Aruba with dignity while continuing to connect her role with community involvement.
The Miss Universe competition will bring together representatives from countries and territories around the world.
Current schedules indicate that the final is planned for November 24, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico Hosts 75th Miss Universe
The 2026 event will mark the 75th edition of Miss Universe.
The Miss Universe Organization officially announced Puerto Rico as the host destination, with the competition taking place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, commonly known as El Choliseo.
The organization says activities connected with the anniversary edition will extend throughout 2026 and include cultural, artistic and social programming.
Puerto Rico has previously hosted Miss Universe several times, making the 2026 competition another significant international event for the island.
ABC Islands Represented
Aruba will not be the only ABC island represented at the international competition.
Curaçao will be represented by Bianty Gomperts, while Bonaire’s representative is Caroline Porras.
Their participation means all three ABC islands are expected to have representatives on the Miss Universe stage.
For Aruba, Johnson will carry the island’s flag and identity before an international audience.
Johnson Builds on 2021 Success
Johnson’s return to international pageantry comes five years after her Miss Teen Aruba International victory.
Her earlier international result demonstrated that she could compete successfully outside Aruba, and her new title now places her on a significantly larger global stage.
The Elizabeth Johnson Miss Universe Aruba 2026 coronation begins a new period of preparation as she works toward the November competition.
With previous international pageant experience, community involvement and the official support of Aruba’s tourism leadership, Johnson will now focus on preparing to represent the island at the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico.
