ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Expands Education With KeDo Digital Platform as the Ministry of Education continues its efforts to modernize the island’s education system through the introduction of a new digital platform designed to support students’ academic and social development.
The official launch took place last week during training sessions for social workers from Aruba’s public schools. Minister of Education Gerlien Croes attended the sessions to demonstrate the government’s commitment to implementing the new technology across the education sector.
Digital Tool Supports Student Development
The KeDo platform, derived from the Dutch term “KetenDossier,” was developed by Xlab Cloud Services as a modular online application focused on supporting students’ social and emotional well-being.
The platform is designed to:
- Register, monitor, and track students’ social development.
- Support students’ social and emotional growth.
- Improve communication between schools, families, and support professionals.
- Provide a centralized system for coordinating assistance when students require additional support.
The Aruba Expands Education With KeDo Digital Platform initiative aims to create a more coordinated approach to student guidance while giving educators, school social workers, and educational institutions a shared digital environment for collaboration.
Centralized Support Across Education Services
Officials also confirmed that the Multidisciplinary Center has already implemented the KeDo platform, while the Compulsory Education Bureau (Bureau Leerplicht) is preparing to integrate the system.
Once fully implemented, information will be centralized, allowing authorized professionals to work together more efficiently in supporting students.
Proven Success In The Netherlands
KeDo is already widely used throughout the Netherlands by municipalities, youth care organizations, and educational support services.
Its integrated approach allows schools, families, and care professionals to collaborate using a unified system, ensuring that students receive coordinated guidance and assistance whenever additional support is needed.
During the launch, Minister Gerlien Croes encouraged education professionals as they began training with the platform and emphasized the importance of digital innovation in strengthening Aruba’s education system.
The Aruba Expands Education With KeDo Digital Platform project represents another step toward improving educational services through technology while promoting better communication and more personalized support for students across the island.
