ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Major Neighborhood Cleanup Campaign Held in San Nicolas as multiple government departments worked together to improve neighborhood conditions through a large-scale community cleanup initiative.
Although Prime Minister Mike Eman was unable to attend the scheduled Accion di Bario event due to emergency meetings related to humanitarian assistance for Venezuela following the recent earthquake, the cleanup campaign continued as planned with full participation from government agencies.
Government Agencies Join Forces
Officials from the Neighborhood Police (KPA), Bureau City Inspector (BCI), GKMB, Department of Public Works (DOW), Department of Infrastructure and Planning (DPL), and Department of Technical Inspections (DTI) collaborated during the operation.
Teams carried out inspections and cleanup activities in several streets throughout San Nicolas, including Prinsenstraat, Mauritsstraat, Adolf van Nassaustraat, and Willem de Zwijgerstraat.
Improving Neighborhood Conditions
During the campaign, participating departments assessed various community concerns, identified locations requiring attention, and addressed issues wherever immediate action was possible.
The initiative reflects the government’s ongoing Accion di Bario program, which brings public agencies directly into neighborhoods to identify local needs and respond more quickly to residents’ concerns.
Strengthening Community Services
The Major Neighborhood Cleanup Campaign Held in San Nicolas highlights the government’s commitment to improving quality of life through cooperation between public service agencies.
Officials said the neighborhood initiative strengthens communication with residents while helping create cleaner, safer, and better-maintained communities across Aruba.
The government also thanked all participating employees for continuing the cleanup operation despite unexpected circumstances, reaffirming its commitment to working together for a cleaner, safer, and more livable Aruba.
