During his official mission to the Netherlands, Parliamentarian Eduard Pieters of the PPA faction focused on strengthening Aruba’s position within the Dutch Kingdom. Pieters emphasized that Aruba must act as a proactive partner, building relationships based on dialogue and mutual trust.
Pieters identified a lack of direct contact between decision-makers in The Hague and Aruba as a significant weakness. He argued that many Dutch politicians are unfamiliar with the Aruban context, which affects policy decisions. His visit aimed to bridge this gap by creating understanding and trust with influential figures in the Netherlands.
The Parliamentarian stated that a strong Kingdom relies on transparency and respect for differences. He concluded that Aruba is stronger when working in cooperation with the Kingdom partners, rather than operating in isolation. Pieters reiterated that the relationship must evolve to reflect mutual respect and shared goals.
