The Ombudsman of Aruba, Mrs. Jurima Bryson, recently participated in the International Ombudsman Institute IOI Board Meeting. The session was held in Curaçao from May 10 to May 13, 2026, bringing together Ombudsmen from various countries to discuss developments, collaboration, and the future of the institution.
During the official meeting, key topics such as financial matters, international collaboration, digitization, the use of artificial intelligence, and the strengthening of Ombudsman institutions globally were addressed. Participants also engaged in voting to make decisions regarding the points discussed during the session. The event began with an informal gathering, allowing attendees to exchange experiences and strengthen international contacts.
In her role as Regional Director of the IOI, Mrs. Bryson also attended the regional meeting for the Caribbean and Latin America. Discussions in this forum centered on regional collaboration, training, subsidies, and support for smaller Ombudsman institutions. Her participation ensured the interests of the people of Aruba were represented on the international stage.
Mrs. Bryson expressed her congratulations to the Ombudsman of Curaçao, Mr. Keursly Concincion, and his team for a successful event.
