Stephany Sevinger AVP: Palm Beach Congestion Demands Rapid Structural Solution for Aruba
AVP Member of Parliament Stephany Sevinger indicated that the traffic and parking situation in the high-rise area of Palm Beach has reached a critical point, where the problem is not only inconvenient but also dangerous and a poor reflection on one of the most important areas for our economy and tourism industry. The Palm Beach zone represents one of the main engines of tourism in Aruba, where thousands of visitors move daily. According to Sevinger, the current congestion and disorder does not reflect the quality, professionalism, and hospitality Aruba wants to show the world. Not only visitors are affected, but also thousands of employees working in hotels, restaurants, casinos, shops, and other services in the high-rise strip. Many face daily difficulties getting to work on time and returning home. Sevinger emphasized that the situation represents a real danger to the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and all road users. Lack of sufficient parking, inadequate sidewalks, and continuous congestion can result in accidents and complicate rapid access for emergency services. “The main priority now must be effective and rapid implementation,” Sevinger declared. She expressed total support for projects and initiatives already in process to improve mobility and called on all relevant authorities to prioritize and accelerate the realization of identified solutions.
