ORANJESTAD (AAN): Aruba welcomed European Commissioner Jozef Síkela at Queen Beatrix International Airport as part of the 21st Overseas Countries and Territories – European Union (OCT-EU) Forum hosted on the island.
Upon arrival, the Commissioner was received by Prime Minister Mike Eman, Vice Prime Minister Gerlien Croes, and Minister Plenipotentiary Mildred “Milly” Schwengle. The استقبال marked the beginning of a series of meetings and discussions במסגרת the international forum.
Prime Minister Eman described the visit as an honor for Aruba, highlighting the importance of hosting European Union leadership and OCT partners. He emphasized that the Aruba EU Forum Commissioner Visit provides an opportunity for Aruba to showcase its vision and the benefits of cooperation with the European Union.
Eman also noted that these opportunities extend beyond government, offering advantages to the private sector and citizens. Aruba has already benefited from several EU-funded projects, including developments related to the archaeological museum, national park, and sustainability initiatives.
Vice Prime Minister Gerlien Croes added that Aruba is actively working on key areas such as refinery development, transportation, and waste management—issues that directly impact the quality of life on the island.
The Aruba EU Forum Commissioner Visit highlights Aruba’s strategic role in international cooperation and its commitment to strengthening partnerships that support sustainable development and economic growth.
