Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt has received Jair Tromp, the new Commander of the Dienst Brandweer Aruba (Aruba Fire Department), in audience for an introductory meeting, Diario reported on October 17.
The visit was mainly to get acquainted. The Governor and the new Fire Commander also discussed the challenges facing the fire corps in the areas of finance, personnel and training.
Emergency dispatch cooperation
The meeting also covered cooperation between the Fire Department, the Police and ImSan, the ambulance service, on the emergency dispatch center — a key point of coordination between Aruba’s emergency services.
