Over 450 vehicles participate in first Baki den Bario Aruba 2026, showing strong community support for the government initiative aimed at helping residents dispose of waste in an organized and responsible way.

Early Saturday morning, starting around 6:00 a.m., a long line of vehicles had already formed in the Tanki Leendert area as residents arrived to take advantage of the “Baki den Bario” service, an initiative led by Prime Minister Mike Eman.

Strong Community Participation

The over 450 vehicles participate in first Baki den Bario event of 2026 initiative demonstrated significant engagement from the community. Throughout the morning, residents brought various types of waste and materials to be properly disposed of.

In total, the operation utilized:

  • 42 containers from Ecotech

  • 18 containers from Serlimar

These resources helped ensure that the process ran smoothly and efficiently as vehicles continued arriving during the event.

Collaboration Between Government and Partners

The over 450 vehicles participate in first Baki den Bario event of 2026 initiative was made possible through collaboration between several government departments and partner organizations.

Participating partners included:

  • Carentra

  • Department of Public Works (DOW)

  • City Inspector

  • Serlimar

  • Ecotech

City Inspector teams responsible for maintaining public cleanliness also assisted during the event, along with volunteers who helped coordinate activities and support residents.

Initiative Meets Community Needs

According to Prime Minister Mike Eman, the strong participation from residents shows that programs like Baki den Bario address a real need within Aruba’s neighborhoods.

The initiative forms part of a broader effort by the government to keep Aruba clean while maintaining close cooperation with the community.

Commitment to a Cleaner Aruba

Special appreciation was expressed to all those who contributed to the success of the first Baki den Bario edition of 2026, including government workers, private sector partners, and residents who arrived early to support the initiative.

With continued participation like this, the government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with communities and ensuring that programs such as Baki den Bario remain effective tools in keeping Aruba clean.
