Aruba Olympic Committee Holds General Assembly With Member Federations

This past Saturday morning, the Aruba Olympic Committee (COA) held its second general assembly of the year at the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba–Beach Resort & Casino.

During this end-of-year assembly, the COA presented and discussed the budget and management plan for the upcoming year, in this case 2026.

Another major topic was the approval of the updated statutes, which were revised and approved during an extraordinary assembly in April and subsequently ratified by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). With IOC approval secured, the updated statutes now fully comply with legal requirements, and the COA will proceed with the final step—official notarization.

Following the opening remarks by COA President Wanda Broeksema, the 2026 management plan was presented. Secretary General Nicole Hoevertsz introduced the strategic framework, development priorities, and financial overview for the coming year.

For the sports technical sector, Technical Director Monica Fajardo outlined the changes and improvements planned for 2026, aimed at streamlining processes with member federations and preparing for potential participation in four upcoming Games. Director of Operations Jonathan Wever then detailed the COA’s communication plans, events calendar, and operational initiatives for next year.

The COA expressed satisfaction that all agenda points were approved, demonstrating strong support from member federations and confidence in the ongoing work the COA carries out for Aruba’s sports community.
