A new study by Going—formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights—has identified the safest Caribbean islands for travelers, examining crime data, safety infrastructure, and preparedness resources across the region. The research aims to help visitors navigate thousands of islands and better understand which destinations offer the highest levels of security and reliability.

According to the study, the Caribbean’s safest destinations fall into three tiers, with Aruba ranking in Tier 1, placing it among the Top 3 Safest Islands in the entire region.

Top 3 Safest Caribbean Islands: Tier 1

  1. St. Barts (Saint Barthélemy)
This French overseas territory tops the list thanks to its low crime rate and robust security presence. Known for luxury resorts and exclusivity, St. Barts offers a highly controlled and safe environment for visitors.
  2. Anguilla
This small British overseas territory is praised for its tranquil natural beauty, hiking trails, and beaches. Its size and consistent safety standards contribute to a notably secure environment for tourists.
  3. Aruba
Aruba stands out for its extensive, island-wide security measures that prioritize tourism safety. As part of the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao), Aruba is widely recognized for its low crime rate, stable tourism infrastructure, and strong government commitment to visitor well-being.

Tier 2 – Caribbean Islands Considered Safe for Tourists

  • Cayman Islands
  • Barbados
  • Turks and Caicos Islands

Tier 3 – Additional Islands Rated Safe

  • Antigua & Barbuda
  • Dominica
  • Grenada

The study reinforces Aruba’s reputation as one of the Caribbean’s most dependable and secure travel destinations, making it an attractive option for families, couples, and adventure travelers seeking peace of mind during their Caribbean getaway.
