The United States Consulate in Curaçao has opened applications for the 2027 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship Program, inviting young entrepreneurs from Aruba and the wider Dutch Caribbean to apply.
This year’s round expands the program from four to seven fellowships and, for the first time, opens eligibility to applicants from Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba, alongside Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten, Diario reported on October 17.
What the fellowship offers
Selected entrepreneurs will join a group of 26 YLAI alumni from the Dutch Caribbean and gain access to an international network of business leaders. YLAI, launched in 2015, is the US State Department’s flagship business-exchange program connecting emerging business leaders across the Western Hemisphere with American businesses.
Who can apply
Applications are open to entrepreneurs from Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Further details on eligibility and deadlines are available through the US Consulate in Curaçao.
What’s next
With applications now open for the 2027 edition, interested entrepreneurs across the Dutch Caribbean can submit their applications to be considered for one of the seven fellowships.
