WestJet Aruba winter flights are set to play an important role in the airline’s expanded sun-destination program for the 2026/2027 winter season.
WestJet has announced its largest winter leisure offering to date, expanding connectivity between Canada and destinations across Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
The airline says demand for warm-weather travel continues to grow and that it is increasing capacity across several popular returning markets while also introducing new routes.
WestJet’s official winter announcement confirms that during the peak travel season it plans to serve 50 sun destinations from 15 Canadian cities, more than any other Canadian airline, while additional capacity increases on returning routes are also planned.
Aruba Remains Part of WestJet’s Caribbean Network
Aruba continues to form part of WestJet’s Caribbean and Central American destination network. The airline currently lists Aruba among the destinations it serves in the region.
The wider winter expansion reinforces the importance of leisure destinations such as Aruba in WestJet’s strategy to connect Canadian travelers with warmer vacation markets.
For Aruba, increased Canadian air connectivity can support visitor arrivals during the important winter tourism period while offering travelers additional options between the island and Canada.
Canadian Market Growing More Competitive
The Canadian market is also becoming increasingly important for Aruba more broadly.
Earlier in 2026, Aruba Airport Authority and Aruba Tourism Authority announced that Porter Airlines will begin new direct winter service from Toronto and Ottawa to Aruba.
Those new routes are expected to add approximately 924 seats per week between Canada and Aruba during the winter season.
The additional connectivity from Canadian airlines strengthens Aruba’s accessibility during one of the busiest periods for Caribbean travel.
The continued presence of WestJet Aruba winter flights, combined with new Canadian services, reinforces Canada’s growing role within Aruba’s visitor market and winter airlift strategy.
