The Aruba Volleyball Season Association (AVA) recently concluded the 2025-2026 championship season with a closing ceremony to recognize the winning teams. The event marked the end of the tournament, which officially began last year in October.
Anchelino Vrolijk, a member of the AVA board, confirmed that the championship finals were held this month, with the final matches taking place in early May. The tournament featured ten teams competing across various categories, including U15, U17, U19, and A-class for both men and women.
In addition to the standard divisions, a special U14 category was organized for mini-volleyball, catering to athletes new to the sport. According to Vrolijk, the competition included a total of approximately 318 athletes.
Vrolijk explained that the association hosts two championships each year. The season typically commences with a warm-up tournament known as the Copa AVA, which precedes the official Aruba Volleyball Championship.
