ORANJESTAD (AAN) – More than 100 pallets of humanitarian aid collected in Aruba are being prepared for shipment to Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that struck the country.
Paseo Herencia in Palm Beach has become one of Aruba’s main collection centers, where volunteers have been sorting, packing, and organizing donations, including food, drinking water, medicines, hygiene products, and other essential supplies.
Prime Minister Mike Eman visited the collection site to thank volunteers and witness the community’s relief efforts firsthand. According to organizers, the campaign began within hours of the disaster and quickly mobilized businesses and residents from various nationalities living in Aruba.
Organizer Orlando Garcia said the response has been overwhelming, with Arubans, Venezuelans, Chinese, Colombians, and many others contributing to the humanitarian campaign. Collection efforts will continue as long as assistance is needed.
The Prime Minister noted that medicines remain among the most urgent needs, based on updates from Aruba’s medical mission in Venezuela, while food, water, and hygiene products also remain essential.
Government officials continue coordinating with local and international partners to ensure the humanitarian supplies reach the communities most affected by the disaster.
