The Aruban government, in collaboration with the Department of Cadastre and Land Registry (DLV), has announced that the implementation of the TERENO digital platform has entered its final phase. This development marks a decisive step toward the modernization of public services in Aruba. Migration of data from the legacy system began on Friday, May 8, and is scheduled for completion by the end of the day on May 11.
A dedicated team commenced data validation and verification on Sunday morning to ensure a secure transition. Minister of Infrastructure, drs. Rene Herdé (AVP), attended the session to provide support and express gratitude for the staff’s dedication. According to a government release, TERENO will initially be operational internally for DLV staff before rolling out to external stakeholders.
The TERENO portal allows users to request cadastral information entirely online, removing the need for manual processing and physical presence at government offices. The administration highlighted that this new system will significantly reduce administrative burdens while improving data quality and transparency. By streamlining interactions between the DLV and the community, the government aims to foster a more integrated and efficient land administration system for the island. The government views this implementation not merely as a technological upgrade, but as a structural change designed to make services more citizen-oriented and accessible.
