The Maritime Operations Center of Wardacosta received a notification on the afternoon of Saturday, May 30, 2026, regarding a person possibly lost at sea. The subject is a 23-year-old Venezuelan man who reportedly departed Venezuela aboard a boat with Aruba as its destination.

Upon receiving the information, authorities notified Coast Guard personnel stationed in Savaneta to commence search operations immediately. Over the past two days, multiple units have conducted comprehensive searches covering both sea and land. These efforts included aerial surveillance carried out by the Coast Guard helicopter across various parts of the island.

Despite these extensive measures, no trace of the individual has been found at this time. Consequently, the operation is transitioning to a passive search phase. Wardacosta units will maintain a sharp lookout during their regular patrols, and the public will be informed promptly if any further developments arise.
