A grass fire in Moko was contained by firefighters on Sunday afternoon after it threatened to spread to neighboring residences. The blaze began behind a house and was quickly moving through the area, raising concerns for the safety of nearby properties.
Following reports of the rapid expansion, two fire units were dispatched to the scene in Moko. Upon arrival, the fire department noted a grass fire burning within a residential lot that was expanding towards a neighbor’s property.
Firefighters immediately deployed hoses to combat the flames. With the support of the second unit, the team was able to control the fire and extinguish it completely to prevent further expansion.
