Aruba Conservation Foundation Connects Community with Nature
The Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF) recently participated in the annual Open Dag Marinierskazerne, continuing a long-standing collaboration to connect with the community.
Throughout the event, ACF hosted an interactive stand where visitors of all ages engaged with displays about the island’s ecosystem. The exhibit highlighted several key restoration projects managed by the foundation.
Restoration Projects on Display
One section detailed coral reef restoration efforts, featuring artificial reefs placed within the Aruba Marine Park. Another area focused on the rehabilitation of mangrove channels in the Spaans Lagoen area. Additionally, the Aruba Conservation Foundation showcased a variety of native plants cultivated in their greenhouse at Arikok National Park.
Nature Speaks Program Invites Public
As part of their outreach, ACF has invited the public to attend the second session of their ‘Nature Speaks: Knowledge Encounter’ program. This informative session will focus on native plants and is scheduled for May 26 at the Dakota Community Center and May 28 at the Teresita Center in San Nicolas.
