ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba’s Ministry of Sports has installed two temporary mini turf football fields in Oranjestad and San Nicolas to bring the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup closer to local communities.
The initiative, led by Minister of Sports Gerlien Croes in partnership with Lotto pa Deporte, features one mini turf field at Plaza Daniel Leo in Oranjestad and another at Carnival Village in San Nicolas. Both facilities will remain available for public use on a temporary basis.
The project aims to encourage sports participation while giving children and young people the opportunity to enjoy football and experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup in their own communities.
Minister Croes emphasized that the World Cup is a time of unity and inspiration, adding that the mini turf fields provide safe spaces where children and youth can play, stay active, dream big, and discover their football talent.
She also encouraged parents to bring their children to the facilities and asked the community to help care for and preserve them so everyone can continue enjoying the spaces.
The initiative celebrates football in an active and inclusive way while supporting the spirit of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and bringing communities together across Aruba.
