A man suffered a minor, superficial injury in a reported stabbing on Mandolinstraat in Tarabana on Monday afternoon.
Police dispatch sent two Oranjestad patrol units to the street shortly after 5:30 p.m. following a report that a person had been stabbed.
Suspected attacker left before police arrived
Officers found the injured man when they reached Mandolinstraat, but the person suspected of carrying out the attack had already left the area.
According to Diario, the injury was described as minor and superficial. The victim did not want to go to the hospital.
Police searched the neighborhood
Patrol officers checked the surrounding area and continued looking for the suspected attacker so they could speak with him about what happened.
The initial report did not explain what led to the Mandolinstraat stabbing, whether the two people knew each other or whether a weapon was recovered.
No arrest or charge had been announced when the report was published. A person sought for questioning is not necessarily charged with a crime, and any responsibility must be established through the investigation and legal process.
Separate from earlier Mandolinstraat case
This incident is not related to the Mandolinstraat shooting investigation reported earlier in September. The location is the same, but the date, people and underlying event are different.
