Aruba Police colleagues have honored Anthony “Tony” Yearwood as he prepares to retire after 38 years of service to the island.
Members of the Oranjestad District organized a farewell lunch where colleagues shared memories from Yearwood’s long career and recognized his contribution to the police force and community.
Retirement begins in December
Yearwood’s final active-service date is scheduled for December 26, 2026. His retirement officially begins the following day.
According to the police announcement reported by AWE24, Yearwood is currently using accumulated vacation, rest and ATV leave before the retirement date.
Police commissioner presents gift
Police Commissioner Ramon Arnhem attended the gathering and presented Yearwood with a gift. Arnhem thanked him for his years with the Aruba Police Force and recognized his role in helping train other officers.
The commissioner also highlighted the respect Yearwood has earned in the community and within the organization. The force extended its thanks to Yearwood’s family for supporting his career.
A distinct retirement milestone
Aruba Police previously recognized Yearwood during Carnival 72. This farewell marks a separate development: the end of his 38-year career and the confirmed date on which his retirement will begin.
The Tony Yearwood retirement is one of several recent senior-service milestones within Aruba’s public-safety institutions.
